The Master Organizations view displays all organizations, such as line operators, railroad operators, shipper/consignee, trucking companies, and agents, that exist at the global scope level and can interact with N4. For example, if a line operator wants to use an agent to interact with N4, you must add the agent as a master organization.

For your initial setup, we recommend that you add the standard list of master organizations. For more information, see Set-up Database view (on page 1).

To use a master organization in N4, you must also add the organization at the required scope level using one of the following forms based on the business role:

• Line Operator form

• Trucking Company form

• Shipper and Consignee form

• Agent form

• Railroad Operator form

• Other Organization form (on page 1)

You can use the master organization list to assign specific characteristics to an organization at a specific scope level. For example, if a line operator is used at multiple complexes and is referenced as Line ABC at complex1 and as Line XYZ at complex2, you can use the same master organization and define two line operators, with Line ABC at the complex1 scope level and Line XYZ at the complex2 scope level.

You can add new master organizations, and edit or delete existing master organizations from this view.

In addition, you can use the Actions menu to:

• Recover Obsolete: Recover deleted master organizations.

• Purge: Purge master organizations.

To add a new record:

To edit or delete a record:

1. In the list view, select the record(s) that you want to edit or delete.

2. Do one of the following:

• Click to edit a selected record.

Click to delete the selected record(s).
